Super Monitor (TV?) Deal

Hey folks, here's a big time deal on a monitor that looks like it can be used as a television as long as you're not using coaxial cable as its input. It's a 42" screen for $580, and it's made by Westinghouse, not some joke brand. If I had any kind of job, I'd buy this thing. I recommend those of you with jobs check it out.

Way to Go, February! (and a deal on Xbox 360s and PS3s)

What was so great about February, you ask? Well, February was the most prolific month in The Housington Blog's history, a daunting eleven posts spanning twenty-eight days. That's less than three days per post, a far better rate than I've ever attained.

The most important part of this accomplishment is that it was achieved with only a minimal contribution of "bogus" posts. Between the Disney World trip, the Rock Band RPG, and my article about driving, I actually posted my own ideas and experiences. Sure, only two people actually read the blog, but I'm headed in the right direction.

I'm hoping to continue to write about my own thoughts at a decent rate, but I'm still going to post any particularly good deals or coupons that I find. For example, if you use coupon code Z0WPL1J0CC3W47 on www.dell.com, you can take 20% off of many pieces of gaming hardware. The coupon is valid through Thursday, March 26th. You can get a 60GB Xbox 360 Pro for $239.20, or an 80 GB PS3 for $320. Plus, you'll get free shipping. Enjoy.

Games For Sale or Trade

I'm clearing out some of my personal inventory of older games, and passing the savings on to yooooooou!

The following Xbox and PlayStation 2 games are up for grabs. I'd like some money for them, but I'm open to interesting trades as well. I'm not looking for huge money or big trades, but I'm much more interested in moving many/all of the games rather than individual games. We'll say $5 for any single game, with dramatic decreases for each additional game.

Battlefield 2
Call of Duty 2
College Hoops 2k6
Freedom Fighters
Jaws Unleashed

Gran Turismo 3: A-spec
Gran Turismo 4

Tony Hawk's Underground
Tony Hawk's Underground 2
Winning Eleven 8

I'll update the list as people lay claim to games. I'll also be posting one of these for movies in the next few weeks.

Pizza Hut

I bashed Pizza Hut in the past for not having coupons. Only 10 short months later, here's a Pizza Hut coupon, 20% off your first online order. They've got some new wings that are pretty tasty, I recommend the garlic parmesan. And the pizza's solid.

Click here for the coupon. My guess is you probably can't double up the coupons, so it won't be a barn-burner of a deal, but hey, pizza is good.

HBO Movie Deals at Circuit City

Circuit City has a bunch of HBO shows available for 50% off or more. A particular highlight is Flight of the Conchords, which comes out to about $13 shipped, quite a steal. Extras, which I've never seen but hear is also great, is about the same price. Eat it up.

Deal: West Wing DVDs

Amazon also has the complete West Wing series at half price ($149.99). I know it seems like a lot, but for seven seasons, it's a very reasonable $22/season. Also, it's an hour-long show, which means you get twice the show per episode as you would from, say, The Office, or How I Met Your Mother (mentioned below).

Also it's my favorite show of all time, so it comes with the Joe Mattingly seal of approval. And if you buy it, I'm virtually always going to be willing to come over and watch some episodes. I'll even bring beer and/or popcorn.

Deal: How I Met Your Mother DVDs

Amazon has seasons 1, 2, and 3 of How I Met Your Mother for $14.99 apiece.

Left 4 Dead Deal (Xbox 360)

Amazon has a deal on Left 4 Dead for the Xbox 360. It's a good game offline, but a great game online. My brother and I have played it in both contexts and enjoyed both, but playing online against real opponents offers a great opportunity for teamwork to triumph over the chaos that normally thrives in online gaming.

I highly recommend the game if you've got Xbox Live. I also would like to be your friend to play this game with on Xbox Live; my gamer card is over there on the right side. Friend me up.

Rock Band Guitar Strap Deals

A couple of really cheap guitar straps on Amazon:

- Tibetan Design
- Gothic Design

Buy them.

iCraveit Coupon

iCraveit.com has a $5 off coupon. Enter code MIDNIGHTBOX when you're placing your order and you'll get $5 off your purchase. Expires August 30, 2008.

Xbox 360 + Madden '09 = $50 Amazon Gift Card

While I'm sure the title of the post gives you enough information to figure things out, let me spell it out for you. Amazon will give you a free $50 gift card if you purchase an Xbox 360 system and a copy of either Madden '09 or Madden '09 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition. It's not a bad deal if you're thinking about getting into the 360 game and are a Madden fan. Or hell, you can get the deal, sell Madden on eBay or Amazon, and use the money plus the gift card to buy some other games.

"Yeah and that's what happens when you talk about a disciplined defense. They stay at home and wait for the runner to come to them."

Cheap Ass Polo Shirts

Sears has a decent stock of polo shirts for $5.99 apiece. The link is here. They don't have anything in "man-size," but for all of you little people (XL or lower), you should be able to find something cheap.

Printable Best Buy Coupon

Here's a printable $10 off $75 coupon for Best Buy, but you can't use it online. Gonna have to get off your butt for thirty seconds and drive over to the store. But hey, $10 off is $10 off.

The link is here.

Rockin' Deals

Hey guys, here are a couple of good deals on Rock Band/Guitar Hero gear.

• Amazonhas the Playstation 3 wireless Les Paul style guitar for $31.36. (Please note: As best I can tell, this guitar is not usable with Rock Band or Playstation 2 versions of Guitar Hero).

• For those of you living in the past who haven't bought a current-generation console yet (like myself), Amazonalso has the PlayStation 2 Rock Band Special Edition set (which just means it comes with all the instruments) for a cool $99.99.

Deals?

Hey, I was thinking about perusing Amazon for more deals (mostly video games) to post here, and I wanted to see if anybody has anything else that you'd like me to keep an eye out for. I have a decent amount of free time at work, so I stumble upon all sorts of deals from time to time. I also have a couple of other sites that I sometimes get deals/coupons for, and I'd be happy to share those as well.

They'll be properly linked, which means I get a cut of the action, but the price for you will be the same, so you can enjoy all the benefits of a personal shopping assistant without having to worry about me grabbing your ass...yet.

What?

Free Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

For the 96% of you who read this blog and like donuts, I've got a printable coupon for you. You can get a free dozen glazed donuts with the purchase of a dozen assorted donuts. For those of you who work in offices, it's a great way to make some friends at a fraction of the normal price...of making friends.

I found this deal at www.slickdeals.net, which has a variety of other deals on a daily basis. If I find particularly good ones (and as importantly, ones that don't appear to have a shelf life of less than 24 hours), I'll try to remember to mention them here.
